ninja- getting better all the time...#3

ninjaface.jpgThe warrior has turned into just a regular old puppy. He's better with playbiting since the family has been using the jowl correction see Ninja #2 . They still have to work on giving the correction sloooowwwlyyyyyyy instead of rushing it and getting him all excited. I felt for the first time that Ninja belonged in this house permanently. It's official.

Last week we started moving the wee-wee pad closer to the back door, so he wouldn't make the habit of going in the livingroom ever. He followed the pad each day as it moved incrementally towards the door. Easy transition for this dog.

His progress with sit-stay was remarkable. Ninja can sit-stay and control himself while his Mom walks 20 feet away, making silly noises in the meantime. she can even crouch down as if she's inviting him (one of the hardest tests at first) and he still waits for the release command to get up. Most families don't really practice like they ought to. This one's the exception.

The barking for attention has really calmed down because the family quit giving him eye contact or attention when he does it. Instead, he's been sitting and staring when he wants something- which is so gentlemanly, innit?

He's super smart and beginning to become sneaky with regards to electrical wires. Ninja's family has a great schedule- both parents are young and retired, which allows them to constantly supervise him. He now has to be watched all the time in order to be corrected for wire chewing and the like. Overall, megafabulouswork.
